At this point, you might be asking yourself if cancer patients worldwide are taking advantage of this technology that has been discussed so far in the previous two posts
And why the media are not talking about it? and what did the Rath Institute do, as a pioneering researcher, to spread this information?
The answer to these questions will be provided and detailed but first, there are some immediate aspects that have to be addressed now.
Currently, the Institute has information that many of the several thousand cancer patients, many of whom shared their records with the Institut, are still alive after 10 years and longer of continuous micronutrients supplementation.
In 2001, the Institute obtained the first confirmation they had a breakthrough in the fight against cancer. Subsequently, everything was done to inform the world about it. As it was mentioned in the previous post, one of the first steps was the publication of this medical breakthrough in the USA Today, on March 8, 2002.
Since then, a multitude of lectures was given in the United States and many European countries, universities with a focus on oncology were contacted and invitations were extended to individuals of the d medical profession to join in an international research effort.
At the same time as the Institute has become a leading independent research institution in science-based natural health. There are no other research institutions that have published and documented more scientific data about the natural control of cancer.
Though the message about the ‘Victory over Cancer’ through natural, non-patentable means was welcomed by the general public and open minded health professionals everywhere, for the pharmaceutical-oriented medicine and the ‘business with chemotherapy’ those findings posed a fundamental threat that was met with indifference and even resistance.

Now I would like to ask you to try and understand what is coming next. Your understanding is the basis for the natural control of cancer, a precondition for the control of cancer and to make informed decisions about your own health.
This is critical in case you are affected by this disease and also if you want to prevent it in the first place.
Moreover, this understanding will protect you from falling prey to the economic interests that thrive on the continuation of the cancer epidemic as a global market for the patented chemotherapy drugs.
On the following pages, we will see a few examples of the comprehensive rigorous scientific testing conducted at Rath’s Research Institute over the past decade. with a reference for each example to the original scientific publication.
KEY MECHANISMS OF CANCER DISEASE
1. Cancer cell invasion and metastasis. Cancer cells have the ability to digest the connective tissue surrounding them to start invasive growth and metastasis in other organs
2. Cancer cell multiplication and tumor growth. The biological software of their nucleus change render them immortal and they multiply indefinitely thus increasing the tumor size.
3. Formation of new blood vessels that feed the tumor (angiogenesis). When the tumor size surpasses 1/20 o an inch the cells cannot be nourished from inside and induce the formation of new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients for further growth.
4. Inducing the natural death of cancer cells (apoptosis). By correcting the genetic switch off of the core of the cells that make them immortal to induce natural cell death
Effectively blocking even one of these mechanisms can be sufficient to control cancer.
THE KEY MICRONUTRIENTS FOR NATURAL CANCER CONTROL
We already learned about the key role of vitamin C and lysine in blocking the spread of cancer cells. Other specific micronutrients can enhance the effectiveness of these two natural compounds in controlling cancer.
All the micro nutrients to adopt for cancer treatment are:
Subdivision of the micronutrients according to specific mechanisms of cancer:
- Support of connective tissue production and maintaining its integrity and stability: vitamin C, lysine, proline, copper, manganese.
- Inhibitors of connective tissue digestion: lysine, proline, vitamin C, N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), green tea, selenium.
- Inhibitors of new blood vessel formation (Angiogenesis): green tea, NAC.
- To induce cancer cell death (Apoptosis): vitamin C, green tea, NAC, selenium, arginine, proline.
INCREASED BIOLOGICAL EFFECTIVENESS BY SYNERGY OF MICRONUTRIENTS
Synergy is more than the sum of its individual components
Past anti-cancer research has been conducted involving individual micro nutrients applied in high doses referred to as “mega doses”.
The research at the Rath Institute for over more than a decade has created a new understanding about how to maximise the biological effectiveness of micro nutrients.: The key principle is ‘Synergy’.
The Synergy principle is so important that some of its characteristics have to be highlighted:
1. Many biological components working together within the cells achieve a desired biological result.
2. The effectiveness of this group of biological components working together is greater than the sum of its individual parts.
3. High amounts of an individual vitamin are less effective than the combination of moderate amounts of selected micronutrients.
The researchers have seen that the aggressiveness (malignancy) of anytype of cancer depends on the amount of ‘biological scissors’ (the collagen-digesting enzymes)produced by this type of cancer.
Therefore, the successful approach to block cancer has to aim at inhibiting the excessive, uncontrolled production of these collagen-digesting enzymes.
The two most important types of enzymes used by cancer cells are:
- Urokinase Plasminogen Activator (uPA)’, and the
- ‘Metalloproteinases’ (MMP2 and MMP9) group.
The inhibiting effect of micronutrient synergy over these two important types of enzymes used by cancer cells was proved in the following experiments.
TEST – BLOCKING THE SECRETION OF THE UROKINASE PLASMINOGEN ACTIVATOR PRODUCED BY CANCER CELLS
In this experiment, it was tested whether the team of micro nutrients isable to inhibit the secretion of the enzyme Urokinase, produced by human prostate cancer cells.
Six test sets containing equal numbers of prostate cancer cells were used.
The first set did not contain additional micronutrients and served as the control.
The other five sets of cells were incubated with increasing amounts of micronutrients.
The amounts of Urokinase collagen digesting enzymes that were secreted by each set of cells exposed to different levels of micronutrients were measured the following day.
It was found that the higher the concentration of micronutrients, the lower the production of collagen digesting enzymes by prostate cancer cells.
In the meantime, it was confirmed this effect of the micronutrients in many other types of human cancer. And other scientists have confirmed these research results too.
So it is possible to say now that micro nutrients are able to reduce the ability of many types of cancer cells to grow, spread and metastasize to other organs.
TEST – BLOCKING THE SECRETION OF METALLOPROTEINASES MMPs COLLAGEN DIGESTING ENZYMES PRODUCED BY HUMAN CANCER CELLS
As we have already seen, the second key group of collagen digesting enzymes produced by cancer cells is the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) where the MMP-2 and MMP-9, are most critical in cancer.
And it was proved that the team of micro nutrients is able to inhibit the production and secretion of those too.
For this test, five test sets containing equal numbers of cells from human bladder cancer were used.
The first set did not contain additional micronutrients and served as the control.
The other four sets of cells were placed incubated in the presence of increasing amounts of micronutrients.
On the following day, the amounts of MMP-2 and MMP-9 enzymes that were secreted by each set of cells, which had been exposed to different levels of micronutrients. were measured.
As in the previous experiment with Urokinase, the results showed that micronutrients can also inhibit the secretion of MMP enzymes.
It is important to note that in this case, micronutrients in moderate and higher concentrations were able to completely stop the secretion of both MMP enzymes by these cancer cells.
In the meantime, it has been also confirmed this effect of micronutrients in more than 40 types of human cancer.
TESTING THE ABILITY OF MICRONUTRIENTS TO INHIBIT INVASION OF CANCER CELLS
Besides blocking the production of digestive enzymes, micronutrients prevent the cancer cells from cutting through the connection tissue to invade other organs.
To test and proof this decisive point, a testing system mimicking the situation in the human body with respect to its components was set up.
– The test vials (A and B) were filled with a liquid solution mimicking human body fluid.
- The top and bottom portion of the vial were separated by a membrane of Matrigel (a connective tissue, gelatinous protein mixture derived from mouse tumor cells)
- The top portions of the vials contained equal numbers of human cancer cells.
- Micro nutrients, which were added only to vial B.
Cancer cells can regularly cut through the separating connective Matrigel membrane and pass on the other side of the membrane and the more aggressive the cancer type is, the more cancer cells are found on the other side of the membrane.
In an extensive series of experiments, the researchers demonstrated that the team of micro nutrients was able to block all tested types of cancer from breaking through the connective tissue.
The Test with Fibrosarcoma Cancer
Fibrosarcoma is a form of cancer of the connective tissue. It develops when the software of human fibroblast cells (a type of cell that is responsible for making the extracellular matrix and collagen) is modified to become carcinogenic.
The researchers at the Institute tested the inhibitory effect of micronutrients on the invasion of these fibrosarcoma cells in the same system test previously described.
The result showed that at the highest concentration of micronutrients (picture D), no cancer cells were detected because they were blocked in their attempt to break through the connective tissue.
The four images show microscopic pictures of fibrosarcoma cells (dark brown structures) that had cut through the connective tissue membrane.
• Picture A, designated ‘Control’, was taken in the absence of the micronutrients. Most of the fibrosarcoma cells had cut their way through the membrane.
• The pictures designated B, C, and D from the same test system show decreasing numbers of migrating cancer cells when exposed to increasing amounts of micronutrients.
It can be clearly seen that at the highest concentration of micro nutrients (picture D), no cancer cells were detected because they were blocked in their attempt to break through the connective tissue.
The small dark spots in the pictures are not cells, but membrane background.
And the diagram shows the quantitative results of these experiments: The higher the columns, the greater the effect of micronutrients in inhibiting the invasion by cancer cells.
At the highest concentration of micronutrients, no cancer cells could cut through the connective tissue anymore (column D).
The same positive results with micro nutrients were confirmed by testing breast cancer cells, prostate cancer cells, lung, colon, pancreas, brain, blood, skin, ovaries, bones, testicular and many others, more than 40 types of cancer.
Studying this large number of human cancer types established that micro nutrient synergy is able to completely block the invasiveness of all human cancer cell lines tested. The only difference is the amount of micronutrients needed to achieve this goal.
This effectiveness of micro nutrients for all types of cancers can be explained because all cancer cells use the same mechanism to invade the surrounding tissue and metastasize. Since micro nutrients are capable of blocking this universal cellular mechanism, they can inhibit the invasion of any type of cancer cells irrespective of their origin.
However, unfortunately cancer cannot be halted at any stage by by micronutrients. This is particularly true for patients with advanced stages of cancer, as well as in cases where the immune system – and thereby the body’s capability to fight cancer – has been destroyed by chemotherapy.
TEST – The scientific proof of the benefits of micronutrients in blocking the invasion (metastasis) of cancer cells in living organism.1
These important experiments were conducted with mice addressing the most challenging question in cancer, which is the prevention of metastasis because 9 out of 10 patients die of metastasizing cancer, not of a tumour confined to one organ.
So it was tested the ability of micronutrients to inhibit the metastasis of cancers.
The test was conducted in the following way:
-A group of mice was injected with an equal number of skin cancer (melanoma) cells.
-The mice were divided into three groups:
- a) control group without micronutrient supplementation,
- b) a group receiving micronutrient supplements in the diet and
- c) a group receiving micronutrients directlyinto the blood stream (intravenously)
When the lungs were later analysed for the numbers of metastases, it was found that
– micronutrient supplementation in the diet reduced the number of metastases in the lungs by more than 60%.
– micronutrient supplementation directly into the blood, reduced the metastases by more than 80% compared to the control group without micronutrient supplementation.
TEST – The scientific proof of the benefits of micronutrients in blocking the invasion (metastasis) of cancer cells in living organism.2
Normally, a cancer starts with a ‘primary tumour’ in one organ. From there, the cancer cells metastasise to other organs. Thus, it is important to know whether micronutrients can reduce the spread of cancer from the primary organ to another organ.
To establish this important fact, the researchers injected melanoma cells directly into the spleen of mice. then:
– one group of animals was placed on a normal diet, without additional micronutrients (control).
– the other group received daily supplementation of micronutrients in their diet.
When the organs were subsequently analysed for the growth of the primary tumour in the spleen (picture A) and the presence of metastases in the liver, (a primary organ of metastasis for melanoma cancer (picture B).
The findings of these studies established that animals which received micronutrient supplementation had significantly less growth of the primary tumour. And he metastases from the primary organ (spleen) to the liver were reduced almost by half.
Additional studies will be done to establish whether increased amounts of micronutrients in the diet can further reduce or even completely block metastasis to secondary organs.
