  1. Is iodized sea salt sufficient? I love salty food, so I’m sure I’d get more
    than enough if it was the right stuff. But in the grocery stores, all I can
    find is Morton’s iodized sea salt, and that has additives…dextrose or
    something like that.

  2. My aunt, 80 year old gal, had a friend who thought she (the friend) had
    onset Alzheimer’s disease. She went to her doctor and he asked her how much
    salt she was taking. She said she was going salt free as she had heard from
    the media that salt was bad for her.
    He told her to up her salt intake and sure enough, confusion cleared up.
    Don’t think he recommended the correct salt, but bad salt is better than no
    salt, I guess.
    I use a good quality Celtic salt from off the coast of France. It is
    delicious. But I must up my intake a little, I suspect.
    Great little videos from TTAC. I enjoy Dr Brownstein’s site as well.
    My ageing Corgi, just turned 15, also gets salt in her BARF diet, along
    with raw beef tendons, beef heart, liver and some blended broccoli and
    pumpkin. Going strong, save her hind quarters which is a weakness in the
    breed. Fifteen, does that maker her 105 y/o? Really slowed down this past
    year. But what an appetite. And how she hates the word ‘diet’.

  4. Just so you know, back when this product first became popular, I found that
    the doctor on the “parents for fluoride poisoned children” website had an
    article about this salt.He was putting out a warning about it being very
    high in fluoride. It is from a cave in Pakistan and distributed out of a
    building in Phoenix. And he had some pictures with it. When I went to share
    that information later, the information was unavailable. I think it was
    originally on, but was referenced from parents for
    fluoride poisoned children. I haven’t seen this in a while and I did stop
    looking after a while, but I thought you might like to know and see if you
    find anything out about this. It has been a few years now. FYI.

  5. I wish he would have mentioned how important it is to make sure to have
    enough potassium to balance the sodium. The SAD (standard american diet)
    has little potassium and way too much table salt, and this causes
    imbalances which call for going on a reduced-sodium diet. Increase your
    potassium and start eating the right kinds of salt, and there shouldn’t be
    much of a need for reducing sodium in the diet. If one can’t live without
    processed foods because of time restraints or whatever, you can just
    transition to organic processed foods since they almost always use sea salt
    or Himalayan salt in their recipes. I’ve been buying organic foods for
    years and have never seen any other kind of salt used by this industry.

    If enough potassium can’t be had in the foods that are chosen, a liquid
    mineral supplement can be added to one’s water. I take Alkazone, which is a
    potassium-based supplement containing all the major and trace minerals
    (except sodium). The potassium is in the bicarbonate form, which is a
    bonus. I wasn’t actually getting enough sodium in my diet so I also started
    making and taking my own sole, which is a salt brine. I use pink Himalayan
    salt for that; it’s very easy to make. I started using both of these
    substances in every glass of water I drank. Adding in these two variables
    to my cancer treatment improved my tests more in a 3 month period than any
    other supplement I’ve taken. That shows you how incredibly important salt
    and potassium and the trace minerals are to the body, IMO.

      You’re absolutely right, and that’s a great point to keep in mind.
      Magnesium deficiency is rampant, as is iodine deficiency. I was personally
      deficient in all those, and then some–like selenium. I’ve been able to
      keep my cancer controlled and take it down some mainly by working on my
      nutritional deficiencies and taking other immune-supportive supplements.

      So sorry to hear about your mom. That’s not right that they don’t allow
      people to bring mineral supplements with them to places like that when the
      person is used to taking them and depends on them. I smuggled those things
      into my mom’s hospital room when she was there for an extended period. 😛

    • +Mhi kl The NHS in the UK calls magnesium a trace mineral just like copper,
      chromium and selenium. They push calcium far too much and after that iodine
      and iron.

  7. I love salt and eat plenty (Himalayan). My blood pressure would make most
    people envious. I usually get mine in bulk at Food Fantasies in Spfld. Il.
    on Wabash. If you drink coffee and it’s a little bitter just add a little
    pinch of salt

  8. When I here someone in the medical field go “we were made by our maker” I
    start to have reservations about this individual. This god thing is not
    science. It is mambo jambo. I wish these people who are doing good work
    would bin the belief thing and go with what is provable. If the guy has
    proved the salt thing works he should give himself a pat on the back and
    site Darwin not some made up deity.

    • +Mhi kl Religion has no place in science. That was my point. My makers were
      two human beings just the same as my dog was made by a female and male dog.
      If anyone has any evidence to the contrary please provide it and I mean
      evidence. So far in history no one has been able to ,so good luck with that.

    • +Mhi kl Yes my opposition to the big three is the same as yours. Whenever
      people obese over clearly delusional beliefs there is the danger of bad
      things happening. Reality is certainly different than what we know now and
      science is always up for investigating this. Religion just sticks its head
      in the sand and attributes it all to the work of a man made god. I am of
      the church of I don’t know. That is the problem with humans very often.
      They can’t just say I don’t know. What happens next is a mystery and maybe
      it will stay that way. When we die we go back to where we came from it is
      that simple. Where that may be is something no one knows or will find out
      until they die. It may be no where at all but why fear it and buy into
      mambo jambo. My only regret will be not knowing how the human experiment
      will finally turn out. The world has changed so much in my life.
      The Electric universe makes perfect sense to me as I have experienced the
      energy of projected collective human concentration from a large gathering
      of people. That energy we all have in us will remain after we die as energy
      is always conserved. I have no staunch set beliefs that cannot be changed
      by reason and all things are possible in this enormous universe.

    @2:29 “The right kind of salt, which is unrefined salt such as Celtic brand
    Sea Salt, Redmond’s Real Salt, the Himalayan salt. I’ve tested all three
    versions of those four times. I didn’t find toxic agents and I found
    adequate amounts of minerals in all of those kinds. I think those are very
    healthy forms of salt”.
