Cholesterol is a fat-like substance, it is produced in animal tissues, especially in large amounts in the central nervous system, in the brain and spinal cord.
In humans, most of the daily cholesterol needed is produced by the liver (your body makes ¾ of its own cholesterol) by combining fats, proteins, and carbohydrates in a 25-step process.
But not all. The rest must come from diet. Just the brain, contains about 25 percent of the total cholesterol in our body.
Because only the cell membranes of animal tissue contain cholesterol. Dietary cholesterol would need to come from an animal or contain a product from an animal.
So, Besides the liver producing cholesterol, the very best way to receive cholesterol into the body is to eat it.
If you are vegetarian and only eat fruits and vegetables, nuts and grains then you are receiving “zero” cholesterol. Certainly, you can get some fats and proteins from these foods but you would need a lot compared to meats and dairy.

The Conventional Medicine States That Total Cholesterol Is Made Up Of:
- High-density lipoprotein (or HDL): This is called “good” cholesterol. Good for your arteries, to prevent heart disease.

Note that LDL and HDL are just fats, fats combined with proteins. They combine with other fats and proteins to be carried through the bloodstream.
